Busy, busy week!!

This past week, we did not take a break! It was fun, but I have to say, I was READY for the weekend! Monday, we went to Dinosaur World in Glenrose, Tx. The kiddos loved it but it was HOT! After about 5 minutes, they were all red faced and sweaty, but hey, this is Texas. Tuesday we went to a playdate at someones house and did Fathers Day crafts. Unfortunately, my creative juices were not flowing at all so we will finish ours sometime before Fathers day. :) Wednesday, I took Lexie to her first movie. She did wonderful! I was so proud. We saw Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Squeakquel. I know its already out on DVD, but what a fun experience. The Rave by our house has free movie showings for kids on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer, and what better way to find out if your kid will actually sit through a movie, than free right?! Thursday we went to Amity's to watch her make a super cute birthday cake. And Friday we had a playdate at Cason's house. That is her favorite little boy, I swear. They are just precious together! We also had a babysitter that night because Dustin's roommate from when we first met, Harvey, was in town and we set out to Billy Bobs for some dancin' and a few adult beverages. I also got my first pair of boots (since the ugly Justin Roper boots in 5th grade anyway!)!!! I am SO excited, they are CUTE CUTE CUTE and super comfortable, which I was expecting blisters this morning, and am proud to say that I am blister free!! So that was our week. Today I have been doing laundry and recovering. Oh, and finally catching up on my blog! yay for me!!

(will post more pics later, I haven't put them on the computer yet!)

3 YEARS!!

My wonderful, amazing husband and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on the 2nd of June. We had our friend Amity, or Amty as Lexie says, watch Lexie so we could enjoy a romantic dinner, sans child. I had asked for ideas of dinner places where I could dress up and not feel out of place, but not spend an arm and a leg. We chose Reata's, downtown, and it was FANTASTIC. I think it is probably one of my new favorite places for sure! We will also have a weekend at the end of the month, child free, to do some more celebrating. Happy Anniversary baby. I love you!

Graduation weekend!

So last weekend, Dustin's youngest sister graduated from high school. She will be going to Oklahoma State, and we are so proud of her! :)I guess becoming a mom has made me a complete sap...ugh..I actually cried (little tears). In public. yeah..so anyway, family came in from Kansas and Lexie got to play with her cousin Ashton. They had a blast. Tea parties, hiding in the bathtubs, chasing monsters (until they both started having nightmares at night, lol), swimming, shopping, and bounce houses. Fun and busy weekend to say the least. Lexie was sad to see Ashton go!

Summer time is HERE!

So summer time is here..and I would say Finally, but it is HOT. It never used to bother me, well not really, but now trying to entertain a 2 year old, and keep her cool, is a chore. Thank goodness for blow up pools, sprinklers, and snocones!!

Chalk time!
Swim date with Cason and Sam

The only time she has played in her new sprinkler..she keeps telling

me, "No, it gets me wet!" duh, MOM!! ::Sigh::

Our first snocone of the season!

Catch Up

So..I have been a COMPLETE slacker as far as this whole blog thing is concerned and I've finally talked myself into catching up. So I'm going to fill everyone in and then add pics all at the end because that's just way easier for me! First are pics from Lexie and Cason's playdate and bluebonnet pictures. No matter what we're doing, these two have SO much fun together and talk about each other for days after. ..Next pic will be from my amazing experience with window trouble. I was driving to Frisco to meet my MIL and FIL to let them keep Lexie for the weekend, in the pouring down rain, mind you, when my window all of a sudden rolled down and WOULD NOT roll back up. I was going 75 down the Tollway, in the rain, with my window down and Lexie freaking out in the back seat..yeah..not fun. So the pic I will leave you guys with is the lovely rig job that my father in law concocted so I could stay dry for the hour back home. Then I was dragged to my first Nascar race, and I say dragged because I had to be up at 6 am to go wait..in the rain...HOWEVER...I am officially a fan. Never in my life have I seen so many rednecks and SO MUCH BEER!! lol. It was hilarious to say the least. I also picked a driver who has been kicking booty ever since so I am ready for November! Then I had a bachelorette party for a high school friend at Texas de Brazil. yummy! A few days later, Lexie and I heard a chirping noise in the back yard and discovered a little bird with a broken leg that our Lab had found. We took it in a box and kept it in the garage until it was well and let it go free when it could get out by itself. Lexie was sad to see it go but she was so excited about the bird being able to go home "to his mommy and daddy!" She is too sweet. Speaking of sweet, I have a cute pic of her giving me my Mothers Day card and flowers. Then we had another zoo trip with Cason. Like I said, Lexie just loves her Cason. Finally, this past weekend, we had a weekend with NOTHING planned. It was great. So we went to the zoo again, but this time with Daddy. Lexie finally got to go in and feed the birds. She LOVED it. (I'm not a big fan of birds..beaks and "talons" just aren't my thing.) However, this proved to be a mistake because now every time we go to the zoo, she expects to go feed the birds. SORRY Lex, we'll just ride the train instead! ANNNNNNDDDD finally, the weather is getting nice so its time for fun in the sun!! and crafts! I got her a Dora slip and slide and that girl is hooked. She wakes up asking to play. Also, this week one of our crafts was to make a pair of binoculars out of toilet paper rolls and venture to the zoo, yet again. Something about binoculars made that trip so much cooler though! So, that about sums up what I've been doing in my hiatus (well, thats what I have pictures of anyway!) Hopefully I won't take so long to get on here next time!

Whew..ok, that's all for now! Be back soon! (Maybe :))

Zoo Day

Today we made another trip to the zoo. Lexie was so excited. I'm assuming her love for Dora & Diego contributes to her statement of, "Going to see if the animals need our help!!!!!!" The fact that we were also going to see one of her BFF's Cason helped also.

Lexie, Cason, and Josh

Lexie and I

And of course, Lexie and Cason..
And she pet a snake..and liked it. I explained to her that we ONLY pet snakes if the zoo man is holding it..YUCK!!
Lexie and some friends from the play group

Needless to say, we will all be sleeping well tonight! :)

Here we go...

So I've been suckered in to this whole blog thing...we'll see how long it lasts ;)! I guess I'll start out by telling a little about myself. I'm 25, and married to an awesome guy Dustin. We've been together 5 years and married for 3. We met when I was bartending at Mercados in May of 05, (I was a bet...) and we've been inseparable since. We got married in June of 07 and welcomed our little princess Alexis Lee in December of the same year. Our lives have changed more than we could ever have imagined but I wouldn't change one bit of it. After living in Tyler pretty much all my life, Dustin took a job in Fort Worth and we moved soon after. What a huge transition! But that has also been a great learning experience in my life. So for now, we're still in FW with our lease up in June, and we'll see where God takes us from here!!
